Stress and Performance Anxiety

Even mild stress can impair pre frontal function by increasing opeming too much. Young people are so terrified at making a mistake they're afraid to try anything new. We need to let our youth know it's okay to make mistakes. Imperfect is not the same as worthless. You don't have to be perfect, and worrying about it is not going to help. The western emphasis on self reliance, not being dependent on anyone else, is wrong and destructive of your mental and physical health. Showing compassion toward yourself relieves stress. Let a child take the time he or she needs. Pets can teach us about gentleness and never holding a grudge. It's ok to ask for help
