What Is the Difference Between Subject and Subject?

For a speaker of English, especially, and probably several European languages, we expect subjects to always be one thing and objects always to be another. But there are many, many possibilities. You might use the same verb for both, but just use different case arrangements as I, what the meaning is. It seems like you could end up having sort of a barrier where like C versus watch take different subjects.
