Is There a Crowd Psychology?

There's a certain crowd psychology. The crowds used to gather in the Roman Coliseum to see the gladiator games, which is named with someone must be killed periodically. And so people talk about cancel culture or whatever and to me this is it's nothing new. It's just the same old thing somebody must be killed at the end of each spectacle. Even if nobody deserves it, we will find a victim anyway. How do we break that? I mean, I imagine a lot of us are sort of scared and frail vulnerable humans who want our tribe around us and we want that protection and it's dangerous. Maybe maybe we don't need to break this.
