The ability for humans to store fat, and sort of unlimited fat is a survival adaptation at that. For our ancestors who went through famine, being able to store fat was what led to survival. You were better a storing fat when food was available, you were more likely to survive. Put us into now an environment where we still have the same biology. We've a mismatch. Our environment is just overflowing with calories, and so many of them are just so hyper palatable and not satiating. And we have a movement deficit as well. 'so it's like this twofold. We got calories everywhere, but our environment's so easy to be sedinto'
