The crisis that happened after the mydan revolution in ukraine led to europe and the united states together imposing sanctions on russia. Some people say the only goal of sanctions is simply to impose costs on russia to weaken their economy. If you think, and i think this is the real goal that we are hoping for, it that putin and the russian government will change their behavior,. than they've clearly not worked.
