How to Balance Your Training

Maritza Kucharski: Running is like a symbolic versus an anabolic state. Because we have those like increased tests, increased hormones, but it's balanced out if we were doing exercise that's less calorie intensive. That's why they put on muscle. It's not that that work just increases that muscle mass running also would do that to a lesser extent. But we have the calorie deficit. So what we should probably do instead is maybe like do 50 minutes of a warm up 50 minutes of an easy run. And then maybe do like one mile at say, like our ultra marathon pace or even our marathon pace one mile steady. Do that for say three or four miles.
