Brain Science with Ginger Campbell, MD: Neuroscience for Everyone

CHAPTER

Robotics and Embedded Cognition

An embodied approach can take advantage of how our brain works and use this o it's really exciting stuff. I think the idea in modern neuron science suggests that our our brain is really predicting, rather than reacting to the environment. And so in your programm robots, obviously there needs some initial fodder for it to work on. But instead of specifying the steps, it's learning through, in the case of these unimals, they're learning through their environment how to then think and ultimately evolve and adapt. i just think that's a really fascinating way that robotics and engineering is moving towards and embracing these principles of embodied cognition.
