How Do You Refuse to Compete on Price?
Jeff Bezos: It's just too damn high to try to advertise on low price. To the Olive Garden profit example, my average cost to acquire is in the $3,500. But I can't advertise a $3.99 mattress with hard cost at about 50% of that price and make money. And yet that's how the whole industry does it,. So for me, I just don't do it.
