Boosting Performance With Antioxidants Is a Good Thing

There are studies showing that in young healthy people who generally don't have a bunch of oxidative stress at baseline, it's actually a little bit counterproductive. Caffeine acutely improves performance, but not really any longitudinal research looking at caffeine exclusively. Other things that have been shown to improve acute training performance either just don't have much data on them or the data is pretty equivocal.
