The Role of Muscle Size in Leverage
The moment arm is definitely the primary determinant of the leverage that the muscle has at the joint to produce torque, including all the other stuff relating to length tension relationship and all that kind of thing. But I just wanted to clarify for people that in some of the data that's tried to explore this, they do show that muscle size is a primary determinant with an amount of relative activation that the muscle experiences. Now, that's not absolute. It's relative. Moment is getting more relative to the overall muscle.
