I think that maybe another way of saying it is that brilliance comes with baggage. If you're a sensitive person and you are broadly sensitive to your environment in all types of ways, then things that are stressful can really impede your learning state. It's kind of what I've noticed working with students, but then I turn it around and see it in everyone. There's these kind of personalities that are created around these cognitive realities at a kind of almost formulaic level. What I try to do with my students and employees and myself is to get us out of those kind of negative self-talk.
