The first meeting with a potential new CEO is to get them talking about their company and where they think it's going. "You have to be very sensitive to make sure they understand you're not trying to delve into proprietary information," he says. The goal at the end of that call is to know enough that I can start to craft an offer, like rough terms that optimizes my result and their results.
