There's this kind of fascinating movement in the United States called the climate mobilization movement, which has effectively tried to use the example of how the US mobilized for World War II. So you get a lot of these analogies, which kind of move back and forth between the conditions of the 1930s and 1940s and the conditions today. And ultimately, what COVID demonstrated was the insight of the wartime state - that actually public debts can carry on rising.
