Theory we have at the moment is a combination of two things which mutually contradict each other and people sort of live with that. But they don't normally take the view there's something wrong which was the view I took and which I still hold. And it's really the second book which was Shadows of the Mind where I more or less introduced the microtubules as an item to fix up quantum mechanics. It seemed to me these were structured far far far more probable plausible things which could preserve quantum coherence.
