The Differences Between English and Other Languages
Stress is sort of a weird thing because it affects a syllable right but also there's sort of a stress pattern over an entire word in most languages. And what counts as stress can be different from language to language. English in a lot of Western European languages, the ones that have stress at all or at the word level, have a combination of intensity that is volume and pitch. Bianca was flabbergasted by the idea.
