The Psychology of Upsells

The psychology behind it is that, and so one signs up for a free course and they've already entered in their email. They're in the mood to buy, which is why we hear video creators doing upsell after someone buys 30 days to a better YouTube channel. It's not a bad strategy necessarily from the sales, but I don't think it's the best strategy from a relationship perspective from a long term plan.
