The more whole fruits and vegetables you eat, the better off you're going to be in terms of lowering your risk of all of these chronic diseases that are cutting our lives short. You can follow a vegan diet using foods from the Mediterranean. Instead of black beans, which are more of Mexican, then you might have chickpeas or something. But my point is that a Mediterranean diet could be vegan, a vegan diet could be Mediterranean, and these can overlap in a really helpful way.
