The Foundational Literacies and Competencies and Character Qualities
The 16 19 project lists the competencies that schools should be aiming for. These include literacy, financial literacy and cultural and civic literacy. Then there are these character qualities such as inquiry, initiative,. persistence and grit. This report explores how these competencies do more than simply deepen 20 first century skills. Together they lie at the heart of s l and are every bit as important as traditional academic learning.
