The captain testified he was not disoriented in this moment, but nevertheless, the n t s b believes that since neither crew member reported seeing the air speed decreasing prior to the command, the captain might have been adversely affected by sensory illusion. It's called a somatograpic illusion. And it can cause a pilot o, cause a person to think that they're in like a nose up or a pitch up sensation when they really aren't.
