Hip Hyper Extension

If you're lying face down on the floor and you lift one leg or both legs really straight up off the floor, then that would be hip extension. We know that pose to be Shala boss. Or locust pose, which is like a yoga back bend where we lift. If it's full Shala boss, then we lift our chest and maybe our arms up off thefloor as well as the legs. But if we're only lifting the legs, then we might call that half Shalaboss. And so that position is hip extension. I sometimes call it hip hyper extension because that's how I learned it.
