How to Optimize Meal and Nutrient Timing for High School Athletes
High school athletes are not being drug tested, the companies that pay for their products to be third-party tested are anecdotally higher quality. Optimizing meal and nutrient timing is dependent on many factors but two things a particular note would be what the daily schedule of the athlete looks like and what the athlete's preferences are in regards to the caloric and macronutrient contents of each meal. Some carbohydrate sources are easier to digest than others. Fat is very slow to digest and can often give people a feeling of fullness if eaten in moderate to high quantities. There is also literature to support that fats eaten in the post-training meal slows down the absorption of carbs and proteins which can therefore delay
