In medical school, i remember being on my surgery rotation and standing over an appendectimi when we're removing some one's appendix. And i just remember asking the surgeon, why do you think people get appendicitis? And he just looked at me and with a really dismissive tone, was like, we don't ask why. We just cut and whyor me that like icapsilated. The problem is lake western medicine is amazing at reacting to a problem. If you have a hearted attack, if you have a car accident, it's fantastic that we can swoop in and heroically rescue someone when the shit hits the fan. But we don't seem to be asking enough,
