The Importance of Complete Rest for Acute Injuries
In order to substantially increase strength in muscle size, lift should be performed with at least 70 to 80 % of an athlete's one repetition maximum. An athlete recovering from an injuri is therefore considered to be load compromised. B f r training provides athletes a very unique opportunity to promote muscle growth and ward off this unwonted loss of muscle size called disuse atrophy.
