Sally Kohn: Over the course of my life as a young adult I had probably I'd seen two or three therapists. But I still felt like something wasn't right. She says she read about EMDR and said to herself, "I think I need that," but didn't seek it out until after leaving her dysfunctional marriage. The process is very strange; you can shake your whole body at certain points in the therapy. It's all about unlocking this stuff that's trapped in your body,. And boy, when I started to unlock some of that stuff, holy smokes. This was tapping into all of this stuff that had remained frozen inside just started to come out.
