The Value of the Clean

The clean is one of those exercises. When I get an adolescent boy to clean over 295 kilos, you can see on the field to play there are different athletes. One year I had 62 boys clean 205, which is 95 kilos for our football team. For a while there in my coaching career, when in doubt more cleans, I just think it's an amazing exercise. Jerks, your mileage may vary, but they have a video of me jerking 175 kilos, which is 385 for a set of five. The snatch and the clean and jerk are the far right on my movement matrix, which means that they encompass every other exercise that I coach and teach.
