For years in my practice, it was coming up. And i really couldn't understand what kept feeding it until one day doing walking meditation. The shift was expressed in the thought, if this fear is here for the rest of my life, it's ok. That was the first moment in all that time that i was really accepting of it. I thought i had been being mindful, but whit wasn't. It wasn't mindfulness, because that through the filter of aversion of not wanting.
