Do You Need Multiple Choice Self Explanation?
Do students need to invent the self explanation on their own? No, they don't. They just need to analyze it and think deeply about it, and then explain it to themselves. So you can model explanation for students. You can also at this stage though, like I'm getting kind of wordy here. Let me take a step back. Kids have a question, and that will either draw attention to something or give them a chance to form a generalization. And there are benefits there.
