The Importance of Self-Compassion in Recovery After Failure
Self-compassion means being kind to yourself treating yourself with the same kindness and respect that you would treat your best friend. So we all have our own inner voice I think whether you listen to it or not but if I you know spill coffee on my white t-shirt or trip on the subway stairs or do something else you know visibly ridiculous my inner voice is very critical and judgmental and sarcastic. Don't forget the series of expletives. Oh yeah well yeah and my inner voice can seriously swear yeah yeah an excellent command of profanity But you can train in self-compassion and train to treat yourself more kindly both on the inside and sort of externally through our wellness behavior.
