If you apologize make sure you keep the butts out of your apologies. Don't belittle their emotions by saying I'm sorry you had a hard time or I'm sorry that was so hard for you. Over apologizing can come across as either insincere or patronizing. Repair in an intimate relationship is not the same as personal accountability it's something you both have to make together and remake together.
