I'm Not Going to Choose Alaska Over Peru Because I've Always Climbed in the Pacific Northwest
In April I would go to the Canadian Rockies and I would catch the end of the ice season and the beginning of Alpine season for me at my experience level I could always climb there even when the weather wasn't perfect. Then I would have a week or two of kind of recovery and sort of travel coming back and then I would go somewhere else where the weather was really good. Peru was often one of the best places you go to Peru in May or in June and start to get a little altitude. The weather is typically again stable enough that you can almost always climb and so on.
