ethan: We all have in er chatter. And i think the most nefarious forms of chatter are these ruminatory, negative, pessimistic thoughts. It's one of the strongest predictors of clinical depression there is. I'm not suggesting that everyone should go through this, but it definitely was a lesson and an opportunity in how to process and deal with adverse events. The thing i think that happens to some people is they never discover the ladder out of the pit of rumination. But if we didn't have the capacity to be bothered by an argument with our spousal unit, then what kind of human would we be?
