Carthage and the Carthaginians

Most of the fleet was ordered back to sicily, leaving regulus in africa with 15 thousand infantry and 500 cavalry. Instructions were to hold the roman position for the winter and do his level best to turn carthage's allies against them. Regulus decided to march for carthage anyway, with or without naval support. The romans marched up into the hills and dislodged the carthaginians with ease,. driving them tof the area. The city of aedas then surrendered without further resistance.
