I wonder if the rise of randomness and multiplayer is coming from spectatorship. League of Legends which is a fairly successful spectator video game is like all about a huge amount about it or it is seeing this individual skill expression, high level of play. I would much rather watch Chaco Taco on PUBG than watch ninja play Fortnite because Ninja almost never loses but watching Chaco Taco play it's like there's this drama where I'm like oh is he gonna win?
