Ask the audience is okay but they often are going to say really obvious things so what I like to do is go to forums and facebook groups and slack groups and anywhere where people are actually just talking about their pain points. If you can watch somebody in their natural habitat then you often get more honest or less insecure answers because they don't think they're being observed right.
