If someone has a diagnosis of breast cancer, and it turns out that they have a pathogenic mutation, you know, first you're going to decide about systemic therapy like knee-oigenotherapy. Not everyone wants to do bilateral mastectomies, even in the presence of a germline pathogenic variant. If people do decide to do breast-conserving surgery, the remaining tissue should be surveilled using what's called high-risk surveillance.
