The Relationship Between Hierarchical Views and Real Self Views

Theory of freedom is based on the idea that your freedom in acting as you act is a matter of a harmonious mesh between different sub systems. Frankfort's version of this, the reason it's a hierarchical version is frankfort proposed that the way to think about these differing systems is in terms of motivational ingredients involved with desire. When we act freely at a higher order of desire, we we, we act upon the desires at a first order that we wish to act upon.
