The Importance of Energy Available Training for Athletes

The runners physiology is probably the area that I think we need to do better in as coaches. The primary consideration for a runners physiology is their energy availability. If an athlete has some low energy availability, they may be three to four times more likely to incur another bone stress injury. A lot of athletes now will have heard of the label or diagnosis of reds or red S relative energy deficiency in sport. But this is something that's such a big Consideration if you're going to run long distances.
