Right now, anyone who is offended about anything feels as though they are being oppressed in some way and therefore deserve to be outraged. The current media environment both encourages and perpetuates these reactions because, after all, it's good for business. It's no wonder we're more politically polarized than ever before. We should pick our battles carefully, while simultaneously attempting to empathize a bit with the so-called enemy.
