Rick Rubin: I never took creative writing class. Do you have something to say? The English part is easy. Like that has almost nothing to do with it. None of it is meaningful until you ship it, which is when you let go. You allow it to be in the world. We want to protect it. It's not perfect yet. Got to hold on to it. Once I let go of it, I can't control it anymore. There's a sense of vulnerability that comes with shipping it. And you don't have to experience that fear or that vulnerability as long as you are continuing to tinker. Right? I've been tinkering with the novel a long time
