When Hannah was young, she had a lot of bad relationships. She says this led her to believe that being sexually active meant you were 'just horny' Now as a sex researcher, she has worked on getting rid of the label "slut" But it's been hard because there are still so many values entrenched in our culture and we can't change them.

In this episode, Hannah is joined by Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn, who is a sexual communication expert, podcaster, and tenured professor. Dr Tara chats about how effective sexual communication is the most important indicator of sexual satisfaction and gives some advice on getting started. She and Hannah talk about aftercare and checking in with partners after sex, misconceptions around sexuality in Thai culture, and what sexual meditation is. Dr Tara discusses how to build your own self-esteem, which is crucial for developing sexual confidence, and turns the questions on Hannah to ask what Hannah thinks sexual confidence is and how she developed it herself. Finally, Hannah and Dr Tara talk about dirty talk, and how to get started as a sex researcher!

Dr. Tara is a sexual communication expert. She's a professor of relational and sexual communication at California State University Fullerton (recieved her tenure at the age of 33), an award-winning researcher, a sex and relationship coach at luvbites.co, and the host of Luvbites by Dr. Tara podcast that focuses on sexual wellness and sexploration. Her work has been featured in Cosmopolitan, Women’s Health Magazine, Insider, and other media outlets.
