The Effects of Overfeeding on Body Weight and Body Composition
Researchers took seven pairs of identical adult male twins and observed them during a 117-day controlled feeding study, this time in a calorie deficit created entirely through exercise. They were all at a thousand calories per day surplus except for day seven on the seventh day they rested. Each pair of twins had nearly identical results with respect to the amount of weight gain and changes in body composition. However, the range of weight gain was very different between pairs of twins ranging from some twins gaining 4.3 kilograms to other pairs of twins gaining up to 13.3 kilograms. The magnitude of that change is highly variable and based a lot on genetics and how your body responds to those things.
