Sitting meditation is the basic part of a positive practice. We simply use the breath as a vehicle for being aware. Thought may come and at first, may carry you away, lost in the ot. But at a certain point you become aware that you're thinking. And through that awareness, we begin to see the changing nature of all these phenomena. Things are arising and passing away. Inawareness of this process change, the mind no longer clings. That's really the essence of the posnom practice.
