LZ Granderson: Who would you be if you didn't believe there was something wrong with you? LZ: I wonder if self-hatred and anxiety or co-morbid in some meaningful percentage of the population. LZ: We want to trust that we belong and that we'll be welcomed and we won't be banished. And so if you are really trusting your safe, that means you trust that you belong.
It’s possible to actually be addicted to self-criticism, especially as a way to keep yourself safe. But evidence shows that’s not true, and today’s episode dives into strategies to deal with your own self-hatred.
