Working Memory in Writing

If you really want to be a good writer, you need to think about your audience. What is my audience thinking as they see this text? And also, what am I trying to say? So all of that needs to somehow live in working memory. Revision is often minimal in young writers and even in college students with corrections-focused primarily on word substitutions and surface-level changes. Professionals review their texts for the form and shape of the argument while holding in mind a concern for their readership.
