A potential represents a capacity of a substance. According to Thomistic metaphysics, a potential can't exist on its own. In another world, this thing could actualize its potential to be one foot away from it and two feet away from it,. And then also three feet away fromit, and then also actualizes potential to be four feet away away from it. So at least three out of the four absurdities that attend Hilbert's Hotel also attend potentialities.
