The Relationship Between Diet and Hippocampal Volume
There's a region of the brain called the hippocampus that we now understand is plastic. People with major depressive disorder tend to have a smaller hippocampus when they're adequately treated, it grows again. The proteins that drive the new neurons in the hippocampus are influenced by diet and exercise. It's not the stuff that you need to make kids toys or grocery bags.
