i'm a little perplexed about the mystery that he feels he's unfolding in this, like, inner psychic life. i think it has to do with the insistence that we are not transparent to ourselves. What is going on in that internal economy of pleasure and pain is not something that we actually have control over. And so you might think, whell, children, they can bored.
