How Do You Define Success With Distressed Couples?

e f t has something like 73 to 86% success rate in studies with distressed couples. We define it with a measure of marital adjustment, and it basically looks at the couples take perception of their marital satisfaction. The one that i think's the most interesting is that we did a big study a few years ago looking not just at whether we can you change your marital satisfaction, but how do you change the security of your bond with your partner? "We've cracked the code of love," says Hamegai.

Her most recent book for clinicians, Attachment Theory in Practice, delineates the promise of attachment science for understanding and repairing relationships.

As the founding director of the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT), Sue trains counselors in EFT worldwide and provides guidance to 80 affiliated centers. She consults for the US and Canadian militaries and is a popular presenter and speaker for the general public.
