The Problem With the Climate Change Novel

The political novel is what really made Orwell into a kind of demi-god. What really moved him was Walter de la Mer and Somerset Morm. Many writers who now I think very unfairly because they don't fit the prescriptions of modernist critical thinking tend to be dismissed. You'd have to sit in a lot of universities before you'd find anyone giving a lecture on Somerset Morm these days. Great shame, I think. And actually I'd be glad to be wrong.
