Mindfulness of the Breath

There are different types of mindfulness. And in some ways you can distinguish the schools based on their approach to the breath. The more open school of mindfulness is encouraging people to not control their breath at all, just be an observer of the breath. There's another kind of approach, which is going to be a little more focused. What we're trying to do is get people to slow down and notice sensations. It's called introception - anchor them completely in the present moment.
